Inspired by the Bodleian Libraries The Art of Advertising exhibition this metal sign features a Miss Remington design.
The American firm E. Remington and Sons manufactured the first commercial typewriter in 1873. Their fictional 'Miss Remington', created in 1900, symbolised a new, independent way of life for women.
