The Gough Map of Great Britain, made c. 1400, is held in the Bodleian Library. The map takes its name from Richard Gough, an 18th-century collector of antiquaries and authority on British topography. It is the earliest surviving map to show routes across Britain and to depict the island with a recognisable coastline.
