This map dates from 1943 and is part of a set of military escape maps held in the Bodleian Libraries. The maps were printed on silk so they could be concealed easily on the body, would still be serviceable when wet, and could help pilots landing behind enemy lines to find a way to safety. Maps like this were carried during the Second World War by British and other Allied air crew.

  • Made in England exclusively for the Bodleian Libraries
  • 100% Silk
