Inspired by the Bodleian Libraries The Art of Advertising exhibition, this greetings card features a ‘Miss Remington’ design.
The American firm E. Remington and Sons (makers of firearms and sewing machines) manufactured the first commercial typewriter in 1873. Their fictional ‘Miss Remington’ character created in 1900, symbolised a new independent way of life for women.
