The Bodleian Library is amongst the oldest and most celebrated libraries in the world. Its historic buildings in the heart of Oxford house an incomparable collection of books, manuscripts, papers and other materials that have been collected since its foundation over 400 years ago.
With over thirteen million items and landmark medieval architecture, it is a vast creative resource. Eye-catching highlights include beautiful illuminated manuscripts, Persian and Islamic art, historic maps, botanical drawings, elaborate book bindings and printed ephemera from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, each with its own fascinating story.
We work with a range of licensing partners, including designers, retailers and manufacturers to help support product development inspired by our collections and unique buildings.
Our team can provide research services and access to curatorial assistance, as well as in-house design and branding support. We have a digital archive of over a million images of rare books, manuscripts and other treasures as well as an in-house photography studio able to capture new items on request.
If you are interested in developing new products or ranges inspired by the Bodleian Libraries’ collections, please contact our Retail & Licensing team who will be happy to help you investigate further.
All profits are returned to the Library to support access to Oxford's unique collections for the benefit of scholarship and society.
