In collaboration with Annie Sloan, this original artwork has been created exclusively for Oxfordshire ArtWeeks, inspired by the Bodleian's medieval bestiary collection.
There are three kinds of horses according to the Bestiaries. Those which are noble (good for battle and riding), those which are common (good for carrying burdens but not for riding), and hybrids, born from a combination of both kinds. The rich, jewel-toned colours and dappled pattern Annie has given the Multicoloured Horse are typical of bestial art.
