In collaboration with Annie Sloan, this original artwork has been created exclusively for Oxfordshire ArtWeeks, inspired by the Bodleian's medieval bestiary collection.

Annie carefully selected this particular representation of the Red Bull, as it resonated with Oxon, the abbreviation of Oxford, and has honoured the creature with a beautiful russet coloured hide. The ox / bull was a useful beast, revered for being strong and reliable and the Bestiaries frequently reference the animal as being able to predict the weather.
