The Bodleian Libraries are pleased to announce a thrilling collaboration for Oxfordshire ArtWeeks 2025 with award winning Icelandic artist, Kristjana Williams.
The Earth's globe, adorned in a mesmerizing turquoise hue, emanates a radiant warmth and liveliness. Oversized elephants traverse the world's mountain ranges while regal rock formations grasp at the sky from the piedmont. The Americas boast the Rockies and Andes, Europe showcases the Pyrenees, the Middle East and Asia are marked by the Caucasus and Himalaya, and the Atlas Mountains dominate Africa. In the east hemisphere a grand locomotive prepares to embark on its journey in the wake of the magnificent elephantine procession. In the barren lands, an elusive Asian leopard prowls, while unknowing giant pandas feast on bamboo; in Eastern Europe, a charming peacock flaunts its stunning feathers, as a watchful parakeet stands guard over the Southern Atlantic. Towering palm trees stand tall, keeping a vigilant eye over the land and the mysterious underground world.
