In collaboration with the Bodleian Bibliographical Press this special limited edition print has been designed exclusively for the Bodleian Libraries by Stanley Donwood.
Stanley Donwood, an artist and writer who has created artwork for the band Radiohead (who originally hail from Oxfordshire) and Thom Yorke's solo projects since 1994, and has created the official artwork for Glastonbury Festival since 2002.
The Bodleian Bibliographical Press (part of The Centre for the Study of the Book) fosters the study of book arts through through programmes for universities and the public. The letterpress workshop in the Old Bodleian Library (and a press in the public area of the Weston Library) enable hands-on demonstrations and classes for universities, schools and the public using technology from the 15th to the 21st centuries.
Alphabets Alive! brings the magic of books and alphabets to life, featuring more than 150 works inspired by the alphabet – manuscripts, prints, posters, sculptures, alphabet books and, especially, artists’ books in their many shapes, sizes, colours, materials and languages.
